Our Leaders
Pastor Brian Gullins |
Husband. Father. Pastor. Strategist. Football Enthusiast. |
The list could go on to describe the shoes Pastor Gullins fills. And with so many roles, how does he balance it all?
In his own words: “Jesus balanced two things: He knew when to rest and He knew when to pray. For me, my priorities are family, work and ministry.”
Why work before ministry? “Because work provides for the family,” he says.
Pastor Brian talks about the art of balance in his series: Balancing: Family, Work and Ministry.
Pastor Brian got plenty of practice perfecting his balancing act while playing quarterback. In fact, playing into college, he’s had the opportunity to learn and play a variety of positions. For him, football was not only recreational - it was the first place his leadership was recognized.
Now as a pastor, he feels honored to lead God’s people into their purpose and teach them with God’s Word.

He truly loves God’s people. He is a prime example of how to minister with love, because He loves God so much.
Co-Pastor Angeline Gullins |
Wife. Mother. Pastor. Chef Extraordinaire.
|
Pastor Angie loves being a mom. Laughingly, she remembers the trouble she got into as a latchkey kid growing up in Philadelphia. Because of this, she decided to stay home and raise her four children.
I just really wanted to be home when my kids came through door, to do homework, to have dinner ready, prepare their lunch and have conversation at the table” she says.
Her biggest joy – eating dinner with the kids. And fortunately for her four mouths to feed…well, five with Pastor Brian, she loves to cook. Not only does she love to cook, she’s really good at it.
Growing up, she learned early how to cook a variety of dishes and how to cook from scratch. You don’t want to get her started on talking about the Food Network…
That passion for good food and conversation around the table even led her to cater professionally for a year. Now she uses her spatula and stovetop to feed the college ministry at VCU for their monthly meetings.
Inspired by Isaiah 62’s vision of “rebuilding the waste cities,” Pastor Angeline desires to see cities healed and communities restored through the power of Jesus Christ.
A few facts about Pastor Angeline:
- West Philadelphia, born and raised.
- Excelled in arts, particularly dance, while attending Philadelphia Public Schools’ Franklin Learning Center
- Really good with connecting, helping and inspiring women to be their best
- Holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication Television Production from Norfolk State University
- Married for 14 years, lives in metro Richmond with her husband and their four children.
A few reasons why we love her:
- She is a pit bull when it comes to prayer and leadership. She doesn’t give up until she sees God move.
- She inspires to get closer to God.
- She looks to serve, not to be served.
